Valentina is our Director of Education, helping shape the vision for how - and what - we teach at Numu. Having worked in a variety of educational settings, including supporting children with diverse learning needs, she brings both experience and heart to the classroom.

Her superpower is connection. Deeply connected to her own inner child, she has a remarkable ability to make every child feel seen, safe, and understood. It's this gift that allows her to lead classrooms fully in Spanish while keeping children engaged, confident, and having fun.

Curious by nature and always eager to learn, Valentina brings playfulness, humour and warmth into everything she does. She also loves sports and firmly believes life is better when we don't take ourselves too seriously.

Valentina es nuestra Directora de Educación y ayuda a dar forma a la visión de cómo y qué enseñamos en Numu. Ha trabajado en entornos educativos muy distintos, incluido el acompañamiento de niños con necesidades de aprendizaje diversas, y trae al aula tanto experiencia como corazón.

If you could design the kindergarten teacher you wished you'd had as a child, she'd probably look a lot like Shell. Originally from the United States, she wins over children, parents, and colleagues alike with her huge smile, infectious enthusiasm, and joyful presence.

A talented musician, Shell brings songs, rhythm, and an ever-growing collection of instruments into the classroom, creating an environment full of creativity, movement, and wonder. There is a special kind of magic in the way she makes children feel excited to learn, explore, and be themselves. Wherever Shell goes, laughter usually follows.

Cande brings a calm, grounded presence that children naturally gravitate towards. She is passionate about helping children discover the world through curiosity, creativity, and meaningful connection.

Whether she's teaching Spanish, science, yoga, or leading thoughtful conversations, she creates spaces where children feel comfortable asking questions, exploring ideas, and expressing themselves authentically. A lover of books, movement, humour, and lifelong learning, Cande believes some of the most valuable lessons happen when children are given the freedom to wonder.

Cande trae una presencia serena y firme hacia la que los niños se acercan de forma natural. Le apasiona acompañarlos a descubrir el mundo desde la curiosidad, la creatividad y el vínculo.

Born in Cuba and having spent many years living in Switzerland, Dionis brings warmth, joy, and a deep love of people to Numu. It felt only natural that she would take on the role of Community & Wellbeing - a responsibility she feels truly honoured to hold.

Whether she's welcoming a new family, supporting a child, or helping nurture the culture of the school, Dionis leads with genuine care and presence. A passionate traveller, lover of dance, and believer in living a beautiful, happy life, she reminds us that community is built through connection, laughter, and shared experiences. She also speaks fluent German, which always comes in handy.

Nacida en Cuba y con muchos años viviendo en Suiza, Dionis trae calidez, alegría y un profundo amor por la gente a Numu. Era natural que asumiera el rol de Comunidad y Bienestar, una responsabilidad que siente como un verdadero honor.

Ya sea recibiendo a una familia nueva, acompañando a un niño o cuidando la cultura de la escuela, Dionis lidera con presencia y cariño genuino. Christine is our English teacher and a gentle guide on each child's journey into reading, writing, and self-expression. With endless patience, dedication, and a calm, reassuring presence, she creates an environment where children feel confident to take risks, make mistakes, and grow.

She has a wonderful ability to meet each child where they are and support them in developing both skills and confidence in the English language. Thoughtful, caring, and deeply committed to her students, Christine helps children discover that learning can be both joyful and empowering.

If you reach out to Numu, chances are Badria is one of the first people you'll meet. She has a gift for making families feel welcome, seen, and at ease, helping them find their place in the Numu community from the very first conversation.

A somatic practitioner, she also leads our Somatics program, guiding children to build a deeper understanding of their bodies, emotions, nervous systems, and inner world. She sees self-awareness, emotional literacy, and nervous system wisdom as foundations for a life of balance, connection, and wellbeing.

A lifelong traveller and lover of the many flavours that make life so rich, Badria brings curiosity, compassion, and heart to Escuela Numu, helping cultivate the relationships and connections that bring our community to life.

Si se pone en contacto con Numu, lo más probable es que Badria sea una de las primeras personas que conozca. Tiene el don de hacer que las familias se sientan bienvenidas, vistas y a gusto, y de ayudarlas a encontrar su lugar en la comunidad desde la primera conversación.

Practicante somática, dirige además nuestro programa de Somática, guiando a los niños a comprender mejor su cuerpo, sus emociones, su sistema nervioso y su mundo interior. Para ella, la conciencia de sí, la alfabetización emocional y la sabiduría del sistema nervioso son bases para una vida de equilibrio, vínculo y bienestar.

Originally from Cuba, Sandra brings creativity, imagination, and a touch of artistic magic wherever she goes. A talented artist herself, she loves helping children explore, experiment, and express themselves through art.

For Sandra, art isn't about perfection - it's about curiosity, courage, and discovering new ways to share what's inside us. Through painting, printmaking, drawing, and creative projects, she invites children to follow their ideas, trust their instincts, and see the beauty in their own unique perspective.

Originaria de Cuba, Sandra lleva creatividad, imaginación y un toque de magia artística a donde va. Artista ella misma, disfruta acompañar a los niños a explorar, experimentar y expresarse a través del arte.

Para Sandra el arte no se trata de perfección, sino de curiosidad, valentía y de descubrir nuevas maneras de compartir lo que llevamos dentro. A través de la pintura, el grabado, el dibujo y los proyectos creativos, invita a los niños a seguir sus ideas, confiar en su instinto y ver la belleza de su propia mirada.

When he's not teaching, you'll probably find Paul at Playa Sámara playing volleyball and enjoying the laid-back rhythm of beach life. Originally from the UK, Paul holds a degree in Engineering from the University of Leicester and later followed his passion for education by earning his TEFL/TESOL teaching certification.

Having lived in Sámara for over eight years, he has worked with children of different ages in schools and through private tutoring. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Paul supports our older learners with patience, encouragement, and a practical approach that helps make learning feel engaging, relevant, and enjoyable. His calm nature and sense of humour make him a favourite among students.

Cuando no está enseñando, es probable que encuentre a Paul en Playa Sámara jugando voleibol y disfrutando del ritmo tranquilo de la vida de playa. Originario del Reino Unido, Paul tiene un título en Ingeniería por la Universidad de Leicester y más tarde siguió su vocación por la educación con la certificación TEFL/TESOL.

Lleva más de ocho años viviendo en Sámara y ha trabajado con niños de distintas edades en escuelas y como tutor particular. Bilingüe en inglés y español, acompaña a nuestros estudiantes mayores con paciencia, estímulo y un enfoque práctico que hace que aprender resulte cercano y disfrutable. Su calma y su sentido del humor lo vuelven un favorito entre los niños.

Everyone loves Mumi. With her quirky personality, warm heart, and wonderfully positive energy, she brings a special spark to the Numu community.

Mumi discovered her love for sewing as a child and later turned that passion into her profession. Today, she shares that same joy with children, inviting them into a world where creativity, patience, and imagination come together. From learning how to thread a needle to bringing their own ideas to life, children discover that a simple piece of fabric can become almost anything. Her classes are filled with laughter, creativity, and the reminder that some of the most meaningful things are made by hand.

Todo el mundo quiere a Mumi. Con su personalidad peculiar, su corazón cálido y su energía maravillosamente positiva, aporta una chispa muy especial a la comunidad de Numu.

Mumi descubrió su amor por la costura de niña y con el tiempo lo convirtió en su profesión. Hoy comparte esa misma alegría con los niños, invitándolos a un mundo donde la creatividad, la paciencia y la imaginación se encuentran. Desde enhebrar una aguja hasta dar vida a sus propias ideas, los niños descubren que un simple trozo de tela puede convertirse en casi cualquier cosa. Sus clases están llenas de risas, creatividad y del recuerdo de que algunas de las cosas más valiosas se hacen a mano.
